SKETCHES & DRAWINGS GALLERY

Fortunately I come from a very creative family, and have been surrounded by art and artists my entire life. And so it is natural that I have always drawn, and doodled, and sketched, especially with my aspirations to be a cartoonist. I'm actually proud of the fact that, while I was earning my BA Degree in Fine Arts at St John's University in Collegeville Minnesota, I was told repeatedly that my art was "too illustrational." ...Cartoonist, duh!

Anyway, here is a random sampling of some of my sketches and drawings...

MEDICINE SHIELD GALLERY

Along with my comics and illustrations, this is something I also create. Each image is a mixed media combination of such things as color pencils, oil pastels, ink, white out, and magic markers on leather, which is then fastened to a curved branch and embellished with feathers and beads.

Together these ingredients form a shield to carry the medicine of various power animals and totems.
